In 2017 Milton Keynes will be 50 years old and we want to celebrate the past, present and future of this amazing city. Through a year-long programme of activities, we will celebrate Milton Keynes and its pioneers, creating shared memories and showing off its design, architecture, industry, green spaces, culture and people. MK50 will provide an inclusive programme of events and activities at all scales, enabling people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to be part of the celebrations.
MK50 is an important milestone for Milton Keynes on the journey towards bidding to be European Capital of Culture in 2023, providing a platform to develop the arts and cultural landscape of Milton Keynes in readiness for this exciting opportunity.
Our Major Programme will tell the story of Milton Keynes as a great place to live, work and visit - showcasing its development, its future and its pre-history. Major Progamme events aim to include elements of celebration, learning and legacy for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Our MK50 City-Wide events have been designed to ensure that everyone feels that they can get invovled in celebrating fity years of Milton Keynes, whether you want to run a celebratory activity in January, hold a street party or have local stories that you want to share.
These events have been developed with partners across the city and over the next months we will be releasing details of sporting events, festivals, parties, conferences, walks and trails and much more...
There will also be an associated events programme that runs alongside these events - so be ready to look out for the MK50 logo across Milton Keynes in 2017.
